Objectives & Outcomes of the Project

 

Objectives of the Project:

The objectives of the activity are as follows:

Ø The Poor labor of the project area will have opportunity of labor at the local level for 306,000 labor days, which will ultimately improve their family food intake and fulfilling other family needs.

Ø 300 miles (60 miles at each district) of damaged Minor/Distributaries will be rehabilitated in the project area through manual labor.

Ø The manual rehabilitation (jungle clearance, deweeding, proper sectioning, de-silting, plugging breaches/cuts etc) of Minors /Distributaries will benefit 50,000 families of Farmers/tenants/ share croppers by irrigating their lands and restoring livelihood for their families.

 

Outcomes of the Project:

The outcomes of the Project activities will be as follows:

 

Ø The poor labor as per selection criteria of WFP has earned their livelihood by providing labor services for six months in the project area.

Ø 300 miles (60 miles at each district) of damaged Minor/Distributaries have been rehabilitated in the project area.

Ø The livelihood of 50,000 families of Farmers/tenants/ share croppers have been restored in the project area who are now able to cultivate their agriculture lands.
